・Feb 9th, 2026: Memorial website launched

After announcing that Ai passed away peacefully, we have received many warm messages and thoughtful gestures, and we sincerely thank you. The presence of everyone who watched over Ai, supported her, and walked alongside her over the years helped sustain her rich and fulfilling life. On this website, we will gradually publish memorial messages received from those connected with her, and we hope to share the voices and memories from you as well.

In the blog, we will also look back on Ai’s life little by little and write down records and memories. We hope to preserve, as a record, the expressions and behaviors she showed in research and in everyday life, and to share with you what Ai left behind. Ten chimpanzees still live together at the facility today, and through the blog we also hope to share glimpses of their daily lives and their interactions with one another.
